Four Days in Singapore
|You should be almost exhausted
by now, and you can also understand why nothing opens
until 10am, we are all just too tired to get up!
|Suggest a day at Sentosa today.
It’s a little island paradise only a $12 cab ride
from anywhere in Singapore. Take your swimmers and borrow
a towel. There is plenty to do at Sentosa and it will
keep you busy for the whole day. Follow this
link for all the information about what is to see
|Suggest you take a cab to Mt
Faber cable car station and buy the return ticket that
includes the chairlift on Sentosa itself, great views
of Singapore and a great ride.
|The beaches are very pleasant
and it will take you all day to explore all there is to
|Highlights are the Luge (its
great for all and very safe), Fort Siloso, Merlion Lookout
and the big tower.
|Do not recommend the Dolphin
show, it's very boring and very hard to see anything that
is happening, you also have to buy a joint ticket for
the aquarium, which is ok, but not worth the price for
| Plenty of great eateries on
the beach (it is Singapore!) and some recent developments
have improved them again.
|Make sure you cross over the
suspension foot bridge to the little island and take some
great photos of the ships passing by.
|Best time of day at Sentosa
is in the afternoon and stay for sunset drinks at any
of the waterside placed. Order the satays and grab a beer
or a not overpriced bottle of wine and watch the sun set
and the lights on all the ships light up, pure magic.
| One comment about Sentosa
is that the service is generally very poor in the café’s
and restaurants and you will have to continually hound
them to bring your drinks before they are warm or the
food is cold. You have probably worked out now that there
is no point being polite to the waitering staff as a rule,
it works on the basis that the person who makes the biggest
noise gets served first.
